What’s the sex six test for?

Sex 6 test, i.e. sex hormone 6 test, is used to check the level of endocrine hormones in human body, which can be used to understand the endocrine function, so as to diagnose various diseases related to endocrine disorders, such as menstrual disorders and premature ovarian failure.
The six sex hormones include luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, estradiol, testosterone, progesterone and prolactin, which can be used to understand the endocrine function through the measurement of sex hormone levels. They are mainly used to assess menstrual disorders (irregular menstruation, scanty menstruation, amenorrhea, etc.), premature ovarian failure, to understand the function of the corpus luteum and the status of pregnancy, and to screen for prolactinoma.
In general, elevated luteinizing hormone is seen in premature ovarian failure and lowered in pituitary amenorrhea; elevated follicle stimulating hormone indicates gonadal insufficiency and lowered in multiple cysts of the ovaries; elevated estradiol is seen in precocious puberty and lowered in ovarian insufficiency.
Elevated testosterone can be seen in polycystic ovary syndrome and so on, and decreased in hypopituitarism and so on; elevated progesterone can be seen in pregnancy and ovarian cysts and so on, and decreased in ectopic pregnancy and preeclampsia and so on; elevated prolactin can be seen in hyperprolactinemia and prolactinoma and so on.
Female sex hormone six tests are usually better performed on the 3rd to 5th day after the onset of menstruation (early follicular stage), which can better reflect the functional status of the ovaries. The night before the test, you should get enough sleep, avoid late nights and strenuous exercise, eat a light diet and fast for 12 hours. If there is any abnormality, you should communicate with the medical staff in time.
