Treatment of stomatitis

Stomatitis is related to infection. For treatment we use anti-infective, and put dry astringent drugs. You can use topical neomycin sulfate ointment during the day and zinc boron paste at night. These ointments are homemade and we can ask if your hospital has similar ones. Other medications can also be used, such as Bactrim during the day and zinc oxide paste at night. If there is no improvement after 2 weeks with the above mentioned medications, you can use 0.03% Protopic ointment. These ointments are hormone-free and have fewer side effects. When the lesions are severe, the diet must be light and avoid eating irritating juicy fruits, such as pineapple mangoes. Seafood, spicy, vinegar and other foods should also be eaten sparingly first. Eating should be cut into small dice to avoid excessive mouth opening. Eat more vegetables and take proper supplements of B vitamins.
