The common herpes are herpes simplex, herpes zoster, and genital herpes. Herpes zoster is an infectious skin disease caused by varicella-zoster virus infection, manifesting mainly as blisters with neuralgia, which should first be treated with antiviral therapy, with common antiviral drugs such as famciclovir and valacyclovir. A common sequela of herpes zoster is neuralgia, which requires, in addition to antiviral treatment, injections of nerve-nourishing drugs, such as vitamin B1 and adenosine cobalamin for injection. If herpes zoster blisters are diffuse or the pain is severe, physical therapy such as red light irradiation, semiconductor laser irradiation or physical therapy may be added. If herpes zoster pain is particularly severe, pain medications like pregabalin, gabapentin, and ibuprofen may be added. Treatment of herpes simplex or genital herpes is relatively simple and can be done with oral antiviral medications such as famciclovir and valacyclovir.
