Most of the antiviral drugs are oral, and there are many injectable drugs, the most widely used clinically is ribavirin, ribavirin it’s antibacterial spectrum is relatively broad, but not particularly effective for each type of viral effect, so less targeted. Other injectable antiviral drugs, such as acyclovir for chickenpox and shingles, require intravenous application, but are also available in oral dosage form. Antiviral drugs, either ganciclovir or phosphinothricin, are available in intravenous dosage forms. However, they must be used for targeted viral infections, and not all viral infections are amenable to this type of medication. For influenza viruses, in addition to the commonly used oral oseltamivir, there is also the option of intravenous paramivir.
