Yohtex refers to levonorgestrel. Taking levonorgestrel tablets just twice a year but only five days apart may cause abnormal periods. Levonorgestrel tablets are progestogen drugs. It can be used as emergency contraception for women, when they are unprotected or when other contraceptive methods fail by chance. It is not a regular form of contraception and using it twice five days apart may lead to abnormal menstruation, abnormal uterine bleeding, and menstrual disorders. There are also adverse effects of taking levonorgestrel tablets such as nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, headache and dizziness. However, these symptoms usually disappear on their own after 24 hours of taking the medicine. It is forbidden for pregnant women, breast cancer, cancer of reproductive organs, abnormal liver function, cardiovascular disease, patients with mental depression and women over 40 years old. Female contraception can use condoms, intrauterine devices, compound short-acting contraceptive pills, etc., and minimize the use of levonorgestrel tablets, so as not to affect the body.
