The cost of radical lung cancer surgery is related to the surgical method, the patient’s physical condition and the presence of postoperative complications. At present, the surgical methods for lung cancer are divided into two categories, namely traditional open surgery and minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery. The cost of traditional open surgery is relatively low, about $30,000 in general tertiary hospitals, and about $10,000 to $15,000 through reimbursement. However, traditional open surgery is more invasive and prolongs the hospital stay. Minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery is now more popular, and the lung lobectomy is performed through instruments, which will apply disposable supplies, which will make the cost of surgery relatively higher.
