Can broken bones grow back?

Broken bones are able to grow back. Healing of a fracture, even a comminuted fracture, is possible. However, the healing of a fracture depends on the number of fractures, the location of the fracture, and the treatment plan for the fracture. In the case of a comminuted fracture, healing will definitely take longer than a normal simple fracture. Also, some fractures in dense places are more difficult to heal than cancellous fractures. The difference between surgical or conservative treatment can also have a greater impact on the fracture, for example, conservative treatment may heal relatively faster because it does not destroy the periosteum. However, the prerequisite is to give the fracture a relatively stable environment without dislocating the fracture and without movement at the fracture end. If the surgery involves stripping the periosteum, healing may be delayed, but, in turn, fracture healing is facilitated by the presence of a strong internal fixation.
