Sheet-like grinding glass shadow generally refers to the appearance of sheet-like grinding glass shadow in the lungs, which may be caused by pneumonia, tuberculosis, early lung cancer and other diseases.
1. Pneumonia: it refers to the inflammation of terminal airways, alveoli and interstitium of lungs, which can be caused by pathogenic microorganisms, physical and chemical factors, immune injury, allergy and drugs. As a result of inflammatory infiltration, lung tissue becomes congested, edematous, exudative, and destroyed, resulting in the discovery of flaky ground-glass shadows in the lungs on chest imaging.
2. Tuberculosis: It is a respiratory infectious disease that occurs in lung tissues, trachea, bronchus and pleura caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Lung tissues undergo exudation, hyperplasia, metamorphosis, and necrosis, resulting in the formation of lamellar ground-glass shadows, which may be more likely to be caused by tuberculosis if they are located in the apical and upper lobes of the lungs.
3. Lung cancer: it is primary malignant tumor of lung originated from bronchial mucous membrane epithelium. Early lung cancer can be manifested as ground-glass nodules, if flaky ground-glass shadow not only fails to disappear after anti-infection treatment, but also forms ground-glass nodules, and the nodules are larger, then we should be alert to the possibility of early lung cancer.
It is recommended to go to the hospital in time for consultation to clarify the cause of lung cancer, so as to avoid delaying the condition or causing adverse reactions.
