Weakness of the spleen and stomach due to liver qi stagnation is called “Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome” in Chinese medicine. Clinical manifestations of this syndrome include pain and distension, depression or irritability, abdominal distension, and loose stools (thin, unformed feces). Liver depression and spleen deficiency can be caused by emotional upset (emotional upset), depression and anger injuring the liver, the liver is not organized, and the spleen and earth are multiplied horizontally. Due to the liver’s lack of detachment (the liver’s function of detachment is abnormal), it is seen that the chest and ribs are full of distension and pain, and the mood is not smooth and the spirit is depressed, and if qi is depressing and transforming into fire, it can be seen that one can be irritable and easy to be angry. If the spleen and stomach are weak and cannot transport water and grains, then there will be little food and abdominal distension, and if there is stagnation of qi and dampness, then there will be yiqi (farting) and loose stools (stools that are not shaped, and there is a feeling of not being drained after passing stools). Because of the close relationship between liver qi stagnation and mental stimulation and emotional disorders, one should maintain an optimistic mood and be in a good mood. If the above symptoms of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency occur, one should also actively consult a doctor for medical treatment.
