Heat paralysis: pain in joints of limbs, intense swelling and pain, relief from cold, cramping of tendons and veins (spasm and convulsion of the body due to wind-cold sensation), redness and burning heat in the painful area, lightness of the day and heaviness of the night, mostly accompanied by fever, thirst, boredom and restlessness. The treatment is to clear away heat, remove wind and dampness, and the formula is Bai Hu Plus Gui Zhi Tang. Chinese medicines or proprietary Chinese medicines need to be used under the guidance of a Chinese doctor, and individuals should not use them blindly to avoid adverse consequences.
