The prognosis for most children with Kawasaki disease is good. With effective intervention at an early stage, usually within 10 days of onset, and timely application of medications, Kawasaki disease in young children can be cured with a low recurrence rate and no sequelae. However, if the child is not rescued in time or treated with effective medication in the early stages, complications may remain. The main complications are cardiac complications, such as coronary aneurysm, coronary stenosis or cardiac insufficiency. In cases of severe complications, long-term medication, regular follow-up in the hospital and surgical intervention if necessary are required.
