Solid lung nodules and ground glass nodules can coexist.
Solid lung nodules and ground glass nodules can co-exist, both due to different etiologies. Solid nodules, which have a solid internal component with no blood flow, are usually caused by a history of previous lung disease, such as tuberculosis, which has a fibrotic effect on the lung tissue and leads to the development of solid nodules.
Ground glass nodules, on the other hand, are usually caused by a current lung disease, such as ongoing pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung cancer, etc., which causes an inflammatory response in the lung tissue and manifests as ground glass nodules.
Solid nodules and ground-glass nodules can co-exist, and further examination is needed to clarify the nature of the nodules before treatment.
