The presence of interstitial plasma cell infiltration in tonsillar swellings is usually a manifestation of chronic inflammation of the local tissues and is a common expression used in pathology reports. The pathological changes found in tonsillar masses with plasma cell infiltration may be the result of a bacterial infection of the local tissues that stimulates the immune system to secrete and produce large numbers of interstitial plasma cells. In the presence of hyperplasia and hypertrophy of the tonsil tissue, there will be chronic inflammatory changes in the tonsil tissue, and there may also be a large number of lymphocytes, the patient may produce symptoms of pharyngeal discomfort, and there may be a foreign body sensation when swallowing. If the pathological examination found that the tonsillar swelling appeared interstitial plasma cell infiltration, it can only show that there are inflammatory pathological characteristics in the tissue sent for examination, does not mean that there are inflammatory symptoms, the specific diagnosis needs to be combined with the clinical characteristics of the disease by the specialists to make a comprehensive judgment.
