Red jujube has the effects of tonifying the middle and benefiting the qi (treating qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen), nourishing the blood and tranquilizing the mind, and can be used for conditions such as spleen deficiency with little food, weakness and loose stools (scanty and unshaped feces), and dirty agitation in women (upset and depression, sadness and wanting to cry for no reason).
Codonopsis is not suitable for those with solid or hot symptoms but not deficiency of positive qi, and should not be used with quinoa. The contraindications of red dates are not clear.
