HFMD vaccine refers to the inactivated vaccine against hand, foot and mouth disease (enterovirus 71 (EV71)), which generally has fewer side effects and can subside on its own. HFMD inactivated vaccine is a clinical vaccine used to prevent HFMD caused by EV71 infection. It belongs to Class II vaccine and is applicable to children aged 6 months to 5 years old, and requires two doses of vaccination. Most children who receive the inactivated HFMD vaccine may experience side effects such as redness, swelling, pain, and hardness at the injection site, which are mild and can be relieved on their own. Some children may also experience systemic reactions after receiving this vaccine, such as nausea and vomiting, fever, diarrhea, loss of appetite, etc., which are mostly transient, so the side effects are minor and parents need not be overly concerned. If it is clear that the vaccine is allergic to the components of the vaccine, in the fever period, suffering from acute diseases or chronic serious diseases and other special groups, it is contraindicated to receive this vaccine. Parents are advised to take their children to regular hospitals to receive the inactivated HFMD vaccine for the full course of the vaccination in order to achieve the desired prevention of HFMD.
