Chronic non-atrophic gastritis, also known as chronic superficial gastritis, is a chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa caused by a variety of etiologies. Common causes include smoking, alcohol consumption, irritating drugs and foods, Helicobacter pylori infection, and psychological factors. The diagnosis is confirmed clinically by means of gastroscopy and pathological biopsy. The lesions of chronic non-atrophic gastritis are multifocal or diffuse, manifested by gastric mucosa congestion, edema, pale red color, which may be accompanied by punctate bleeding and erosion, and the surface may be covered with grayish yellow or grayish white mucus exudate. The clinical manifestations of chronic non-atrophic gastritis lack specificity, and even some patients are asymptomatic. Some patients may present with abdominal pain, bloating, acid reflux, belching, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, weakness, constipation or diarrhea. Most patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis can be cured by treatment or elimination of the cause and reasonable diet, and only a few patients are transformed into chronic atrophic gastritis. In summary, chronic non-atrophic gastritis is a common gastric mucosal lesion, the clinical symptoms lack specificity, but the prognosis is good, so patients should not have heart pressure, and actively cooperate with doctors for treatment, generally can be cured.
