What is adenine

Adenine is mainly a component of nucleic acid, involved in the synthesis of genetic material. Adenine promotes the proliferation of leukocytes and increases the number of leukocytes in the body, thus it is used to prevent and treat leukopenia caused by various reasons, especially for leukopenia caused during chemotherapy of tumors, but also for acute granulocytopenia, etc. Currently, adenine is mainly a surrogate for genetic material. In the past, adenine could be considered as vitamin B4, however, it is no longer considered as a true vitamin and, at the same time, is no longer a member of the B vitamin family. The main use of adenine is for the synthesis of DNA and RNA, for radiation therapy for benzene poisoning, anti-tumor and other causes of leukopenia and granulocytopenia, and other pharmaceutical and chemical research.
