Desensitization therapy, also called specific immunotherapy, is considered to be the only “cause-specific” treatment method, which refers to the use of patient-sensitive allergen preparations (such as mites) in incremental amounts by continuous subcutaneous injection or sublingual administration, in order to improve the patient’s tolerance to the allergen and achieve the goal of no or greatly reduced incidence even after further exposure. Desensitization treatment has a history of 100 years and is the only possible “cure” method that is currently respected worldwide. The efficacy is not 100%. At present, only patients aged 5-55 years old who are allergic to dust mites are desensitized in China, and children with combined asthma have better results.
