Children with acute pneumonia also known as bronchopneumonia can be handled through general treatment, medication and symptomatic support.
1. General treatment: Indoor air should be circulated, drink plenty of water, give nutritious diet, pay attention to isolation to prevent cross-infection.
2. Drugs: Drugs should be administered according to bacterial culture, drug sensitivity test and symptoms. If it is bacterial infection, amoxicillin, ceftriaxone and other drugs can be applied; if it is viral infection, rehydration, budesonide, salbutamol, aminobromine nebulization and other treatments can help to relieve the bronchial edema and spasm; for those who have high fever, ibuprofen should be given to lower the temperature.
3. Oxygen intake: Oxygen can be inhaled through nasal catheter or mask to improve oxygen saturation.
4. Sputum aspiration: aspirate sputum in time and clean nasal secretion to keep the airway open and improve ventilation function.
5. Ventilator-assisted ventilation: children with severe pneumonia may be treated with ventilator-assisted ventilation as prescribed by the doctor.
If your baby has symptoms of pneumonia such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, coughing up sputum, etc., you can consult a doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment.
