The genetics of lung cancer has been studied for nearly a century, but there is no conclusive evidence that lung cancer is hereditary. If you have a family member with cancer (including lung cancer) and you are a long-term heavy smoker, you should be vigilant. Can human genome analysis identify the genetic basis of the association with lung cancer development? Can certain measures, such as gene regulation, be taken at the precancerous stage to block the development of lung cancer? Further research is needed. Lung cancer is not contagious. Lung cancer occurs when certain cells become cancerous due to genetic factors and certain environmental factors, and these cancerous cells continue to multiply, grow and become tumors. Therefore, lung cancer cannot be transmitted in any form from one person to another.
