Is decapitation and decompression of a renal cyst the same thing as removal of the cyst wall?

Decapitation and decompression of a renal cyst is not the same thing as removal of the cyst wall.
Decapitation and decompression of renal cysts is the laparoscopic removal of a layer of cyst wall protruding from the surface of the kidney, so as to contact the pressure of renal cysts on the kidney itself as well as the tissues and organs around the kidney. Removal of the cyst wall is a step in renal cyst decortication and decompression, so renal cyst decortication and removal of the cyst are not the same thing.
De-roofing decompression surgery for renal cyst is a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, which is less traumatic, quicker recovery, lower recurrence rate, and can preserve more renal units compared with the traditional surgery to remove intact cysts. However, if there are multiple cysts and the location of the cysts is deep in the kidney, decortication and decompression may not be able to remove the cysts completely.
If patients want to undergo decortication decompression surgery for renal cysts, they need to complete the relevant examinations, follow the preoperative precautions given by the doctor, and inform the doctor in time if they have any uncomfortable symptoms after the surgery.
