What it means to have a fever every day in advanced glioma

Daily fever in advanced stage of glioma may mean that the patient has lung infection, glioma has invaded the thalamus or cancer fever and so on. 1. Lung infection: if patients with advanced glioma stay in bed for a long period of time, the respiratory secretion will be difficult to be discharged, which may cause lung infection. At this time, in addition to fever, patients will also have cough, sputum, dyspnea and other lung signs, and sensitive antibiotics should be used to treat the infection. 2. Glioma invades the thalamus: if the patient’s glioma invades the thalamus, it will lead to the abnormality of its thermoregulatory center, thus central fever will occur, and then the patient’s body temperature may rise suddenly, which can reach a high temperature of 40~41℃, and the patient should actively adopt a comprehensive cooling program. 3. Cancer fever: glioma belongs to malignant tumor, and the malignant tumor cells themselves may produce endogenous pyrogen, such as the release of antigenic substances within the malignant tumor cells to cause immune reaction and fever, inflammation caused by infiltration of leukocytes within the tumor, and so on, and it should be actively cooled down and treated. If patients with advanced glioma have fever every day, they should go to the hospital to do relevant examination in time in order to clarify the cause of the disease and be treated actively under the guidance of doctors.
