Swollen eyelids and swollen legs are the clinical manifestations of edema, mainly due to the following reasons.1, heart disease, most commonly seen in left heart failure, rheumatic heart disease, hypertensive heart disease in the late stage, due to the superior vena cava, inferior vena cava blood reflux is impeded, the blood stagnation in the end of the limbs and the face, there can be swollen eyelids and swollen legs, the need for diuresis and other treatments.2, renal disease, kidney diuresis, drainage, if renal insufficiency or failure, manifested as hypoproteinemia, sodium retention, there can be swollen eyelids and swollen legs. If renal insufficiency or failure is manifested as hypoproteinemia and sodium retention, eyelid swelling and leg swelling may occur.3. Liver disease, various liver diseases are manifested as cirrhosis and hepatic failure in the terminal stage, thus the decrease of albumin synthesis ability causes hypoproteinemia, and leakage of fluid causes eyelid swelling and edema.4. Allergic reaction, eyelid swelling and leg swelling may occur when the face and lower legs are in contact with the allergens.5. Hypothyroid function Hypothyroidism can also cause edema.
