Treatment of anterior lumbar lordosis

Lumbar lordosis is caused by congenital developmental malformation or trauma of the lumbar spine, resulting in the lumbar vertebrae and intervertebral discs protruding forward beyond the normal physiological curvature and compressing the surrounding tissues and the anterior longitudinal ligament. If the lumbar lordosis is relatively mild, the main method of conservative treatment is to reduce the pressure on the intervertebral discs through lumbar traction and physical therapy such as lumbar traction and massage, which is conducive to restoring the normal physiological curvature of the lumbar spine. It can also be combined with functional exercises of the lumbar back, usually more lumbar back extension exercises, as well as the prone position bow back method, stretching the lumbar spine to reduce the symptoms of lumbar lordosis. If the symptoms of lumbar lordosis are more serious and the effect of conservative treatment is not satisfactory, surgery can be considered for correction.
