A common use for hua tangerine red is decoction. Specific instructions should be followed.
Hua Tangerine Hong is the unripe or nearly ripe outer rind of Huazhou Pomelo or Pomelo, family Rutaceae. It is warm in nature, pungent and bitter in flavor, and enters the lung and spleen meridians. It has the basic efficacy of regulating qi and broadening the middle (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach), drying dampness and resolving phlegm (expelling dampness by drying dampness and resolving phlegm).
It is indicated for cough with profuse phlegm, chest and diaphragm constriction, food stagnation (accumulation of food in the stomach due to indigestion), belching (belching with fullness), eructation (hiccup), nausea and vomiting, and distension of the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen). Adverse reactions to Huo Tangerine Hong have not been clarified. This product is pungent, warm and dispersing, dispersing will deplete qi, warm and dry will easily injure fluid, therefore it should not be taken by people with qi deficiency, yin deficiency and dry cough with little phlegm.
