Symptoms of HPV type 18 positivity in women

Women who are positive for human papillomavirus (HPV) type 18 are asymptomatic in the majority of patients, and when cervical lesions are present, symptoms such as profuse vaginal discharge and contact bleeding may occur.
HPV18 and HPV16 are both high-risk HPV viruses and are the most common types of viruses that cause cervical lesions. In the case of HPV16 or 18 infection, colposcopy and biopsy of the cervical tissue are also required to clarify whether the cervix is diseased. Other high-risk HPV infections require a combination of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cytometry (TCT) testing.
Most people with HPV18 infection do not have obvious symptoms, and cervical lesions can be detected by biopsy in some patients.
To summarize, female HPV18 positive patients should improve the relevant examinations under the guidance of the doctor in time to clarify the cervical lesions, and carry out appropriate treatment according to the examination results.
