Causes of swollen face in women

The common causes of swelling of the face in women include drinking too much water at night, nephrotic syndrome, hypothyroidism, and so on.
1. Drinking too much water at night: Drinking a lot of water at night will easily lead to swelling of the face in the next morning, which will usually subside soon.
2. Nephrotic syndrome: the deterioration of renal function leads to water and sodium retention, which causes plasma extravasation and tissue fluid aggregation, resulting in facial edema.
3. Hypothyroidism: Due to low thyroid hormone levels, mucous proteins in the tissues increase and water collects in the tissues, which may cause facial swelling.
There may also be other causes of facial swelling in women, such as chronic nephritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the examination, to clarify the cause of the disease, and to carry out standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
