How long does a tubalogram take?

Tubalography is usually completed within half an hour, with inter-individual variations.

Tubalography involves exposure of the cervix through gynecological examination and gynecological instrumentation, adjustment of the uterine position, insertion of a tube of fluid into the uterine cavity, and pushing of a contrast medium.

If the fallopian tubes are open and the uterus is in a good position, then the operation is simple and convenient, and the operation time is relatively short, perhaps about 10 minutes.

If the uterus is poorly positioned and the operation is difficult, or if the fallopian tube is blocked and the patient is emotionally nervous and does not cooperate well enough, then the operation will take longer, about half an hour.

Contraception is required in the month following the tubal imaging test and sexual intercourse is prohibited for one month to avoid infection.
