During labor, the relationship between the indicator point of the preexisting part of the fetus and the maternal pelvis is known as fetal orientation, and ROP is one of them, known as occipital right posterior position. In occipital preeclampsia, the occipital bone is used as an indicator point, and the different positions of the indicator point in relation to the maternal pelvic inlet to the left, right, anterior, posterior, and transverse constitute the different fetal orientations. ROP is right posterior occipital position, i.e., the occipital bone of the fetal head is located in the right posterior direction of the maternal pelvis. Occipital precession is the most common fetal orientation, occupying about 95% of the time, with occipital left anterior and occipital right anterior being relatively easy to produce.
