The disease lupus erythematosus is divided into discoid lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus. Both lupus erythematosus have certain stimulation to internal organs that may affect life expectancy, and the exact number of years you can live depends on your immune system. Generally, if lupus erythematosus is not treated, the survival time is 5-10 years. If systemic medication is administered to maintain life, it will not significantly affect human life expectancy, and survival for 20-30 years is not a problem. However, lupus erythematosus itself is a connective tissue disease that can cause comprehensive damage to the skin and internal organs of the body and accumulate heart, liver, kidneys and other organs, which is detrimental to human health. It is generally recommended to choose long-term oral hydroxychloroquine or long-term low-dose glucocorticoids for systemic maintenance, which can reduce the damage of this disease to the body and thus maintain one’s life.
