The disappearance of portal hypertension is not necessarily a sign that cirrhosis is getting better. Portal hypertension is a common symptom in patients with cirrhosis, and usually patients will have symptoms such as enlarged spleen, ascites, fatigue, poor appetite and jaundice. Portal hypertension will also decrease when cirrhosis improves, but the disappearance of portal hypertension is not necessarily a sign of improvement of cirrhosis. In some patients, the use of diuretics and the reduction of circulating blood volume may also make the portal hypertension disappear, but this does not mean that cirrhosis has improved. There may be other reasons for the disappearance of portal hypertension. If cirrhosis is diagnosed, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, complete the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
