Swelling of the left calf should be alert to varicose veins of the left lower limb, left thromboembolic vasculitis, deep vein thrombosis of the left lower limb, lumbar disc herniation, cellulitis of the left lower limb.
1. Varicose veins of the left lower limb: the weakness of the local vein wall of the left lower limb leads to the flexion and expansion of the venous blood vessels, and a large amount of venous blood is stagnated, resulting in the swelling of the left calf.
2. Left thromboembolic vasculitis: chronic cyclic inflammatory lesions in small and medium-sized arteries and veins of the left lower limb, resulting in swelling and numbness of the left lower limb.
3. Left lower extremity deep vein thrombosis: high blood coagulation, slow venous blood flow and other factors lead to venous thrombosis in the lower extremity, resulting in venous return obstruction, and thus swelling and pain in the left calf.
4. Lumbar disc herniation: Lumbar disc herniation compresses the neighboring spinal nerve roots, resulting in sensory abnormalities and swelling in the innervated distal limbs.
5. Cellulitis of the left lower extremity: the left lower extremity subcutaneous connective tissue is infected with bacteria and other pathogens, resulting in the formation of subcutaneous abscesses, and thus swelling of the left calf.
Left calf swelling may be related to a variety of diseases, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, to give targeted treatment or treatment.
