A patient who suffered multiple stab wounds to the lung, diaphragm, liver, spleen, small intestine, large intestine and retroperitoneum with blood loss of 4,000 ml was successfully resuscitated by the Pancreas-Thyroid Ward of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University in conjunction with the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. The patient was admitted to the hospital as an emergency, and after intraoperative exploration in the pancreas-thyroid ward, 3 cm stab wounds were found in the left outer lobe of the liver, 3 cm stab wounds were seen in the upper pole of the spleen, 3 ruptures of the small intestine, 5 cm longitudinal rupture of the descending colon, and a hematoma could be seen in the left lower retroperitoneum; diaphragm rupture was seen; first, the general surgery department completed the partial hepatectomy, splenectomy, anastomosis with partial resection of the small intestine and descending colostomy, and the thoracic surgery department carried out the open thoracic exploration and bleeding control, and the chest surgery department carried out open chest exploration to stop bleeding. Thoracic Surgery performed open thoracic exploration and hemostasis, wedge resection of the basal segment of the lower lobe of the left lung, partial repair of the diaphragm, and finally, Orthopedic Surgery performed retroperitoneal hemostasis, after which the patient was admitted to the ICU ward for treatment, and has been transferred back to the pancreatic-thyroid ward with a good recovery.
