Epididymal head cyst is a cystic lesion on the head of the epididymis. Due to obstructive or inflammatory lesions in the ductal system inside the epididymis, semen inside the epididymis can not be discharged normally, which finally results in localized semen retention, leading to cysts on the head of the epididymis.
The most common age of epididymal head cyst is 20~40 years old, and it is common with single cyst, or it can be manifested as multiple cysts, or there are multiple lumens inside one cyst, etc. Most of them are caused by multiple reasons such as excessive sexual stimulation, infection of epididymal head, and local injuries, etc. It may cause manifestations of scrotal swelling and discomfort, scrotal moisture, and decrease in the quality of sperms.
