Antibiotics cannot treat novel coronavirus. Antibiotics are ineffective against viral diseases, and guidelines for treating novel coronavirus stipulate avoiding blind or inappropriate use of antimicrobial drugs, especially the combined use of broad-spectrum antimicrobial drugs, which may cause bacterial dysbiosis to lower one’s immunity and antibiotic resistance. The new coronavirus is a self-limiting disease that can be cured, mainly by increasing one’s own resistance and immunity, and is usually treated with bed rest, supportive therapy, monitoring of vital signs, oxygen saturation, and adequate nutrition, and the treatment of viral diseases should be kept simple and not over-treated. There is no confirmed antiviral treatment. In the early stage of the disease, alpha interferon, lopinavir, ritonavir, ribavirin, chloroquine phosphate, and abidol can be used.
