What are the dietary basics for colorectal surgery patients

Diet after abdominal surgery is a common problem that bothers patients and families. There are many kinds of abdominal surgeries, such as appendicitis, intestinal adhesion release, bowel resection anastomosis, small bowel surgery, and colorectal surgery. The size of the surgery varies and each patient is different, so the postoperative diet needs to be individualized. A reasonable diet helps patients recover smoothly. An unreasonable diet not only prolongs the recovery time, but can even cause serious postoperative complications, such as intestinal obstruction and intestinal fistula. I. If you are not sure about something, we suggest you to ask during the check-in, because doctors are very busy with patients, discharges, consultations and surgeries every day, and cannot guarantee that we are available at other times.
