How to do lower limb training for hemiplegia

Lower limb training for hemiplegia, which is carried out according to different stages of rehabilitation, can be accomplished in the order of passive training, assisted training, active training and resistance training. The training movements include leg weight bearing, flexion, elevation, stilt swinging and hip swinging. 1. Early stage: passive and assisted training can be carried out. (1) Weight-bearing on the affected side: the patient takes the supine position, the healthy side of the leg is bent, the affected leg is placed on the healthy side of the leg, and a certain amount of weight can be borne. (2) Exercise of lower limb flexion driven by the healthy side: both legs are straight, the affected leg is placed on the healthy leg, and the healthy leg drives the affected leg to practice flexion. (3) The healthy side will drive the affected side to complete the stilt hip swing: use pillows and other objects to fix the affected leg in a bent-knee position, then put the healthy leg on the knee of the affected leg and practice swinging the hip to the left and right. 2. Later stage: through early strength training, the strength of the affected limb is improved, and active and resistance training can be carried out, for example, elevation of the affected limb: with both legs straight and placed on the bed, the affected leg is lifted upward with force and the exercise is repeated; then weights, sandbags and elastic bags can be used to provide resistance and resistance training can be carried out. The training of hemiplegic lower limb strength needs to be gradual, go to regular rehabilitation hospitals and centers, and practice under the guidance of professional doctors, so as not to cause injury.
