How can children with asthma “avoid” eating properly?

The recent temperature change has led to a surge in the number of children seeking medical attention for asthma attacks. Once a child has a cough or asthma attack, many parents will consciously make their children “avoid” all kinds of fish, shrimp, crab, meat, eggs, etc., and some even give their children only white porridge, green vegetables and other vegetarian food. In the long run, this affects the child’s nutritional intake, which in turn leads to the lingering disease. So what is “taboo”? In layman’s terms, it means avoiding certain foods that are known to cause allergies and trigger asthma. What is a reasonable “avoidance”? It is to avoid asthma attacks caused by careless eating and to prevent the absorption of nutrients by the body due to excessive “avoidance”. There are common (all asthma patients need to avoid) and specific (some patients with allergies need to avoid) diets to prevent asthma attacks. For example, avoid cold drinks and artificially prepared gas-containing beverages; avoid gas-producing foods such as melons, beans, pasta or desserts; avoid passive smoking and spicy and stimulating foods; control the intake of fat in obese children, eat a diet of high quality protein, multivitamins and high carbohydrates, avoid foods that are not digestible, and improve the immunity of the body. There are also many patients who are allergic to certain specific foods that trigger asthma attacks. Clinically, milk, eggs, beef, mutton, various fish, shrimp, seafood products, and even fruits may be allergens that trigger asthma, which requires parents to be attentive and pay attention to whether their children have eaten similar foods before the onset of asthma, or they can go to the hospital for special allergen testing. You can also go to the hospital for special allergen testing to see what kinds of foods your body is allergic to and avoid them in a targeted manner. There are usually two methods of allergen testing, including venous blood testing for serum specific IgE and allergen skin testing. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages, and it is recommended that both tests be done and then analyzed for more reliable results.
