Can Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan and Zuo Gui Wan be taken together?

It is not recommended to take Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan and Zuo Gui Wan together because of the duplication of medicines and overlapping effects. Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan is composed of Cornus officinalis, Zhi Mu, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Alismatis, Rhizoma Alismatis, Rhizoma Alismatis, Rhizoma Alismatis and Rhizoma Cypress. It has the effect of nourishing yin and lowering fire (nourishing yin essence and lowering fire). It is suitable for dry mouth and sore throat, tinnitus, spermatorrhea, hot flashes and night sweating (sweating abnormally after going to sleep and stopping after waking up) caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin essence in the body and hyperactivity of deficiency fire). Zuo Gui Wan is composed of Chinese yam, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Semen Cuscutae, Fructus Lycii, Achyranthes bidentatae, Gelsemium glabra and Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata. It has the effect of nourishing the kidney and tonifying yin. It is suitable for night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping sweating after waking up), lumbar and knee soreness (feeling of soreness and weakness in the lumbar and knee areas), mental fatigue (mental exhaustion and physical weakness), and dry mouth caused by deficiency of true yin. Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan and Zuo Gui Wan both contain Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Chinese yam and Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, both of which nourish yin, and if taken together will result in excessive dosage of the same, which may cause adverse effects on the body, and therefore it is not recommended to take them together. Drugs must be used under the guidance of a doctor, do not blindly self-medication.
