The symptoms of bleeding from the nose and blood in the sputum are often caused by a certain degree of dryness of the nasal mucosa as well as erosion and rupture, and a certain degree of inflammatory, infectious and allergic diseases of the nasal cavity and sinuses. Some patients may also have repeated nostril picking, nose rubbing, or excessive smoking, drinking, eating a spicy, stimulating diet, which can easily cause the nasal mucosa and submucosal vessels to break down and bleed. If there is repeatedly a small amount of blood oozing, it is also easy to have bloody secretions flowing backwards into the throat, which will cause the performance of blood in sputum. Some patients also have obvious deviation of the nasal septum or bleeding-prone growths such as hemangiomas and bleeding polyps in the nasal cavity or nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which require further detailed examination if necessary.
