Raised veins on the dorsum of the hands mean that the patient has little subcutaneous fat, a thin stratum corneum, and visible veins. The causes of raised veins on the dorsum of the hand may include physiological factors such as thinness and pathologic factors such as venous valve dysfunction.
1. Physiological factors: thin people, the elderly and people who often engage in physical exercise, due to the reduction of subcutaneous fat, the veins are fuller, and the blood vessels are mildly dilated, causing bulging veins on the back of the hand. This situation generally does not require special treatment, appropriate rest can slowly return to normal.
2. Pathological factors: due to venous valve dysfunction, causing blood reflux obstruction, vein filling and the symptoms of raised veins on the back of the hand. This situation should go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition and treatment.
