What is the cardiac auscultation zone

The auscultation zone of the heart is generally five regions, the aortic valve auscultation zone, the second aortic valve auscultation zone, the pulmonary valve auscultation zone, the tricuspid valve auscultation zone, and the mitral valve auscultation zone. For the aortic valve auscultation zone, it refers to the second intercostal space on the right edge of the sternum. The second aortic valve auscultation zone refers to the third intercostal space on the left edge of the sternum. For the pulmonary valve auscultation area, it refers to the second intercostal space on the left edge of the sternum. The tricuspid auscultation zone refers to the 3-4th intercostal space on the left edge of the sternum. The mitral valve auscultation zone refers to the place where the apical pulsation is more pronounced, which is usually between the 4th and 5th ribs on the left edge of the sternum. Of course, the location of the auscultation zone is not fixed due to the different development of the heart. In some cases, the heart is transposed, especially in congenital right-sided hearts, so the auscultation area is definitely different. In addition, with primary cardiomyopathy, especially dilated cardiomyopathy, the auscultation area may also change. Therefore, for the heart auscultation area, the location is not fixed, but for normal people, the auscultation area is the situation described above, which is basically a fixed range. By auscultation, it is possible to find out if there are any problems with the heart valves.
