The Liver Function 10 shows the extent of liver cell damage, the metabolic and synthetic functions of the liver, and the presence of liver fibrosis. The 10 Liver Functions include alanine aminotransferase, glutamate aminotransferase, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase, and alkaline phosphatase. Albumin and glutamate aminotransferase are primarily used to assess the degree of hepatocellular damage. Total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, and indirect bilirubin are used to reflect the metabolic function of the liver and to assess the presence of cholestasis or hepatocellular jaundice, obstructive jaundice, and hemolytic jaundice factors. Total protein, albumin and globulin are mostly synthesized by the liver, so they are used to assess whether there is any abnormality in the synthesis function of the liver; γ-glutamyltransferase and alkaline phosphatase are mainly used to assess whether there is liver fibrosis. In addition, the 10 items of liver function test must be drawn on an empty stomach, it is recommended to fast for about 8-12 hours, usually in the morning 8-10 o’clock in the morning to draw blood to be more accurate, the day before the blood is prohibited to stay up all night, drinking alcohol, excessive exercise, and so on. If the patient’s liver function test results are abnormal, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital in a timely manner, after clarifying the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor for targeted treatment or therapy.
