Bowen’s papule in men is closely related to infection with human papillomavirus subtype 16.
Human papillomavirus subtype 16 is mainly transmitted through sexual contact, indirect contact (such as contact with the patient’s underwear, bath towels, etc.), etc. The reason why men get Bowen’s pimples may be related to frequent changes in sexual partners, not taking proper sexual safety precautions, and sharing bath towels and other items with carriers of the virus.
Bowen-like papules occur in the perianal or external genital skin mucous membrane, once men get the disease, usually in the penis, glans and other places to grow a single or more flesh-colored, reddish-brown, black-like pimples, pimples bright surface, shape such as oval, irregular, round, some patients will have itching or burning sensation, most of them do not feel.
Although Bowen-like papules may subside on their own, not all patients do so. This disease may cause pigmentation or invasive carcinoma, so patients need to actively cooperate with doctors for guidance.
