Erythromycin ointment for anal fissures heals in a few days

Early anal fissures are treated with erythromycin ointment and can be cured in about 10-15 days with methods such as potassium permanganate sitz baths. For patients with old anal fissures, external application of erythromycin ointment cannot achieve satisfactory results and surgery is usually required. Patients with anal fissures can be treated with erythromycin ointment, but patients have different symptoms and vary in severity, and applying erythromycin ointment alone may not achieve a better therapeutic effect. For example, applying erythromycin ointment in the early stage of anal fissure can avoid infection and inflammation in fresh wounds, and thus avoid ulcerative wounds. For old anal fissures, erythromycin ointment is not effective, and a combination of Longzhu ointment and nitroglycerin ointment can be chosen. In addition, patients with anal fissures should keep their bowels open, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and try to avoid the intake of spicy and stimulating foods to avoid dry and hard stools, which may aggravate anal fissures. If anal fissures recur and do not heal, it is recommended to take surgery as soon as possible.
