Adnexal cysts can be identified as benign or malignant by tumor markers, pathological tissue biopsy, pelvic ultrasound, and other tests such as CT. 1. Tumor markers: patients with adnexal cysts can be tested for tumor markers. If the level of tumor markers increases, malignancy is usually considered. 2. Pathological tissue biopsy: Pathological tissue biopsy of adnexal cysts can clarify whether the local tissue is benign or malignant. 3. Pelvic ultrasonography: if the result of pelvic ultrasonography is liquid dark area and the boundary around the cyst is clear, it means benign cyst. If the boundary between the cyst and the surrounding tissues is not clear in the pelvic ultrasound examination, and the liquid dark area of the ultrasound appears to be light spots or chaotic light clusters, it is mostly considered to be malignant cysts. 4. Other: patients with adnexal cysts can also do CT, MRI, laparoscopy and other tests to determine the benign or malignant nature of the cysts. It is recommended that patients should consult a doctor when they have adnexal cysts, and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate way to determine the benign or malignant nature of adnexal cysts.
