Rhomboid pain can be relieved by rest, physical therapy or medication. 1. Rest: Overexertion of the back, shoulders and arms can cause rhomboid muscle strain, which can be relieved by resting the arms and shoulders as much as possible and avoiding use of these muscles. 2. Physical therapy: On the first day of pain, you can reduce inflammation and pain by placing an ice pack under the upper back for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. If the muscles still feel tight or experience muscle spasms a few days after the injury, place a warm, damp towel or heating pad on your back. If the pain stays unrelieved, you can take far infrared therapy or microwave therapy. 3. Medication: If rhomboid pain is unbearable or interferes with normal life, you can take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve pain, such as diclofenac sodium, ibuprofen and naproxen. If the rhomboid muscle pain increases, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for early and regular treatment.
