Why do normal people get epilepsy?

Epilepsy is not an independent disease, but a group of diseases or syndromes, and the causes of epilepsy are very complex. 1. Symptomatic epilepsy: There are many causative factors for this disease, such as cerebrovascular disease, brain tumor, parasites, traumatic brain injury, genetic metabolic diseases, drugs and toxins, central nervous system infections, etc. Usually the etiology of the disease is clearer, causing structural damage to or abnormal functioning of the central nervous system and the onset of the disease. 2. Idiopathic epilepsy: The cause of idiopathic epilepsy is unknown, and no structural damage or functional abnormality causing epilepsy has been found in the brain. It usually starts at a particular age and may be genetically related. 3. Cryptogenic epilepsy: The clinical presentation suggests symptomatic epilepsy, but the available tests do not reveal a clear cause. Epilepsy is a common disease of the nervous system, once the onset of epilepsy should be timely medical examination and treatment.
