Lung pain should be identified as the cause of the disease for root cause treatment. Pain relief can be provided with analgesics, such as ibuprofen, as prescribed by the doctor, or by treating the primary disease to relieve the pain. There are many causes of lung pain, infectious inflammation, lung tumors, intercostal neuritis can cause lung pain. Pneumonia, pleurisy, interstitial lung disease caused by bacterial or viral infections, or tumors invading into the pleura are able to cause intense pain, which is characterized by worsening with deeper breathing. If lung pain is accompanied by symptoms of respiratory disease, such as coughing and sputum, infectious diseases can be considered; if there are no symptoms of respiratory disease, other diseases, such as heart disease, should be considered. Prolonged lung pain should be treated by a physician, screened for the cause, and treated according to the doctor’s instructions.
