Pueraria Mirifica is sweet, pungent and cool, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and lung meridians. It has the effects of relieving heat, generating body fluid, quenching thirst, clearing rashes, and elevating yang to stop diarrhea (elevating yang qi of the spleen to relieve diarrhea).
It can be used to treat wind-heat surface symptoms, stiff and painful shoulders and neck, and impenetrable measles; it can treat thirst caused by yin injuries or fever; and it can also treat diarrhea caused by spleen deficiency and damp-heat. Pueraria Mirifica should be used with caution in cases of superficial deficiency with excessive sweating and yin deficiency with hyperactivity of yang.
